One of our favorite parts of The Great Nosh — our epic picnic on Governors Island — is a tent where families share their culinary secrets. This year, filmmaker Dana Schneider and her mother showed us how to roll the Yemenite Shabbat bread jachnun, while content creator Arielle Nir Mamiye and her mother taught us about flaky Moroccan chicken pastilla.

Jeremy Salamon and his partner, Michael Herman, made thin Hungarian crepes called palacsinta and Jessica Quinn and her wife, Trina Quinn shared the secrets to pillowy and peppery cabbage piroshki.

You can also find recipes from last year's Grandmas Tent, including ones for challah, hand-rolled couscous, and more. We hope you will try these recipes in your own home.
